Our Camping Experiences

Troop 560 plans monthly camping activities. We encourage the scouts to attend as many camping trips as they are able to. For each rank advancement, some camping activities are required. Our camping trips are a lot of fun. The campouts may include different activities such as: fishing, canoeing, hiking, and service projects.  Camping is usually done by patrols. Each patrol is responsible for appointing one member "grub-master" or cook. Their responsibilities include: lead the planning of the menu for the weekend with the rest of the patrol, purchasing and cooking their food. We normally leave for a weekend trip on Friday, meeting in the parking lot of St Marks at 5:00. Each scout should eat before leaving on Friday as there is not a Friday evening meal at the camp, only a snack. Families are encouraged to attend the camping trips. Here are some of the past campouts we have had. Select the tabs on the side menu for more information.
